i have an ati mobility radeon igp 345m card in my hp ze5470. This computer would be perfect for me if the video card didnt suck so much. Is this card integrated? If not, could i get a new card for my computer. If it is, could i install a new chip?

if "igp" in your description means what i think it means, then yes, it's integrated and no, you can't upgrade.

99% of notebooks on the market have vid cards that are not upgradeable. if yours was one of the 1%, you would know it because it would be a unique feature.

Your best option would be to sell it and get something better. Maybe like the Compaq v4000t with the x700. I think they start around $900 on HPShopping.com.

That card is soldered to your motherboard - impossible to remove/replace.

Yeah - if your card was upgradeable as drumfu said, it would have said it in the product description.

If you're interested in a new notebook just copy and paste the FAQ into a "What should I buy" thread in hardware and we can give you some suggestions. zazonz already gave a good one.

im short on cash, so i just wanted to know if there was a cheaper way. Thanks though. If i did have $1600, i was going to go for the acer ferrari 3400, which has an ati 9700 card
