The average life for a laptop LCD backlight is in the order of 30,000 hours, or more than three years of 24-hour a day use.

as long as you dont break it ^^

the inverter of the screen is the part which usually burns out first. The inverter basically takes about 19volts or so and uses voltage rectfiers to bump the voltage up to 1200Volts or so for the CCFL backlight. The inverter gets hot, so after many hours of use, it tends to wear and break.
The backlight is usually pretty durable, it only really breaks if you bend the screen an awful lot.
But you should be able to get a good 5 years out of your lcd before having any problems.

My dad still uses a Thinkpad A22e from 2001 and the LCD hasn't been replaced ever since. Only thing upgraded is the HDD to a E7K100.

I bought a 10 years old laptop from ebay for fun. It had it's original screen. I have a 2/3 years old Dell precision M70 sitting in a shelf waiting for a screen replacement.
This to say that there is no way to know in advance how long an LCD screen will last -

Dose not running you screen at full brightness make it last longer?

They live long enough.
It can only happen, like the others already said, that the inverter fries itself, you have to replace it and everything works again.
The LED backlit displays shouldn't have this problem.
Running it not at full brightness should help to increase the inverters life, because then it gets not so hot.
But well, use your laptops like you want and if something breaks down, repair it.
The thing which really helps is to deactivate a stupid screensaver and to activate the automatic display turn off feature in Windows after, maybe 10 minutes.
average lifetime of laptop lcd's?
