I have a new Asus laptop windows 7 which when I shut the computer off (not Sleep or Hibernate) for 2 weeks and unplug it, when I return and plug it in and start it up, the battery level is down to about 70%.

I bought it a few months ago as a backup which I don't use yet. I notified Asus and they took the machine and replaced the main board and the battery but the problem remains. I assume that bec they accepted the problem the first time that they too agree that a battery should last longer.

Before I send it away again I want to get a 2nd opinion- is this type of battery drain abnormal?
    thanks

Good question.. On my G73JH, from when it was new I had a similar issue. I lose about 2% every I day I leave it unplugged and powered off. What is funny I have a 5 year old dell D610 and the battery drains less than 2% each week.
