I have a HP Compaq NX9600 that I bought a Compatible but not exact match battery for this laptop. The battery charges and holds a charge and works well. The only problem is it is not recognized in power management so you are unable to see how much battery life you have left. Is there any way to fix this issue? I tried a bios update but that did not work. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks for the Info but I tried that and that doesn't recognize the battery either. I am confused on how this battery is working but not being recognized by windows or third party software. any other suggestions that I can try??
