    battery tool?

    ok, i just reinstalled windows, but now there is nothing telling me how much battery i have left in the tray thing. any ideas, or if i should just get something better (preferably one that is in the disc tray, that doesnt need me to start it after boot up)

    You can enable that...

    Start ---> Control Panel ---> Power Options ---> Advanced --->
    Click the checkbox making sure "Always show icon in the system tray" is checked.

    If that doesn't work, you can download Notebook Hardware Control. That has a battery time icon for the tray, and the program can autostart.
