Yep, it's a small budget - but when I saw a guy posting a T9400 for $150, I got my hopes up. Since, I have seen P8300s with ending bids at $90, so my guess is P8400 is probably the max I can get, right? Can someone please prove me wrong?

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
There is at least one P8400 on eBay going for $110 BIN. Lowest P8600 and T9400 are $140. I'd say your best bet is indeed the P8400. You won't get much more out of the P8600, and maybe not even the T9400. If you aren't worried about sheer brute force, the P8400 is all the better choice, being a 25W part.

bah, it's for video editing in Premiere and After Effects. Perhaps the extra $50 will be worth it? is it really a noticeable difference?
