I will be getting a 14" laptop and I would like a separate widescreen LCD monitor so I could work more efficiently while I'm at my dorm. I'm looking for a 19~21" screen that has some real estate but is under $350. Any ideas out there?
For such big screen size, I think 1600x1200 or greater would work out well (Dell's LCD? i heard it's tooo bright though..) but I wasn't able to find them. Lower response time (no ghosting) would be great as I hope to game (just a lil bit of FPS action) using this.
BenQ...Dell...? I don't know much about external LCD monitors since i've been using CRTs all this time, but any tips on which models I should look at would be great.
Thanks!

l'd go with this for best monitor under $350, the Dell 2007WFP doesn't seem bad but it had some color banding issues and i'm not sure if dell has fixed it yet. -
Check this acer 20" widescreen 8ms ,600:1 WSXGA for 279:

I think you need to check your gfx card's max resolution though before going with a high resolution monitor, not sure though ,GL. -
I like my 2001FP a lot. Does have a bit of leakage though.
