I looked long and hard and decided against bluetooth. I had tried the in ear stereo bluetooth headset from plantronics (Voyager 855) so that I could use it with my PC at home, my iphone, then with my PC or laptop at work - that would be sweet... but it doesn't work like that. Audio quality is poor, you find yourself dealing with pairing/connecting even when everything is working right, but most of these headsets do not support "multi-pairing" which means you have to re-pair them everytime you want to switch devices. Even if you don't want to switch devices, you'll deal with connection issues, not to mention audio quality and poor range.

I went with a USB / radio solution. No connection issues, great range, just less flexible. I got the Audio 995. There wasn't much choice in these kinds of headsets.

thanks for the info, i tried numerous bluetooth 2.0 sets and found nothing satisfied. the only one worth mention is sony's HBH-GV435a but it's a 2.0, connection range is very limited.

I agree with the complaints regarding bluetooth headsets. But with that said, I have a Samsung WEP870 that I use as an earpod for my phone. It has stereo headphone attachments that I can use when I want wireless headphones to watch television on the laptop. I can't really leave the room or go more than about 15' without having problems.

So far though, as long as I stop and start the computer (not hibernation) with the headphones on and in range I don't have to re-pair them and I can go back and forth with the phone. Of course, I can also use the stereo feature with my phone as well.

The thing is, the whole package only cost about 50 bucks so I don't feel like I'm out anything. I would have spent as much on a headset for my phone anyway. It is, I would say, adequate for my needs. Better than the little wired headset that I have as an alternative - and it didn't really cost me anything the way that I look at it. For that price - I'm happy.

    Best solution for me!
