Hi I have a t61p (do these have 2 or 3 antenna?) Was wondering what's a good wifi card to replace the stock one that came in it. Intel 6250? I heard the 6300 have some issues and I prefer intel for their driver support. Thanks

Unless you have Middleton's BIOS, you can only install Lenovo branded cards, I think the best Lenovo card that will work for a T61p is the Intel 4965 AGN. If you have Middleton's BIOS, then you no longer have WLAN whitelist. T61p has 3x3 antenna, if you only had a 2x2 card, 3rd grey antenna is usually tied off somewhere.

I have the Intel 6205 card in my ThinkPad T61 (with Middleton's BIOS) and it's solid. Bear in mind should you wish to use the latest Mini-PCIe wireless cards you will need a half height bracket to mount the card on properly (as shown here).

Or, you can put the wifi card in the other PCIe slot with one of the pins taped off...

6200 is still the best bang/buck

yup I've got the middleton bios. I think every card is in the $10-20 range so whatever is best in that range.

I got a 6205 for like $15 off ebay. You can get em for $10 if you don't mind waiting for it to ship from china.

If you have the unlocked BIOS, then Intel 6200/6205, you'll need to buy a half height bracket adapter, not too much $$.

why is the 6200/6205 better than the 6250? And what is the difference between the 6205 and 6200?

It's not "better" but most people will never use the WiMAX portion of the 6250 and not pay $$$ for it. Not much difference between 6205 and 6200.
