    Hello there,

I own a Gateway P-6860X and (as I'm sure most of you all know) its weakest point is its processor. So I decided I'll be upgrading it. The problem is that I do not understand much of hardware...specially notebook hardware. I know there are some topics about upgrading it but I would like to know my possible options.

I'd like to know the processor that has the best result to replace my current one...I work with 3D Modelling and Rendering so I need the best performance...

    Can someone help me out?

    Cheers,

    Henry

I don't think it support quads so the best thing you can put in it will be the 3.06Ghz T9900.

Ah i see, thanks for the answer man.

So the best processor would be the T9900. OK ím going to have a look around to see if i can find a good price for that one. Do you have any tips of where icould get that?

    Cheers,

    Henry

or the T9300. That is what I have in mine as I type. When I bought it was not the top of the line (a step down) but did not have the premium of the top. Also I don't think it is worth the little boost you may get. Remember that we only have a Nvidia 8800GTS M as a video card. Your issues are going to be there. Don't get me wrong I love my FX (and would have bought another if a refresh of the line had happened) but it needs to make way for the G73 that is on its way.

T9300 is your best and cheapest option... T9900 will not work as it is a 1066MHz FSB and your gateway only supports CPU's with 800MHz FSB like T9300.
