i've been searching forums online but i have not even been able to get bf2 to install with vista. it will go about a quarter of the way then just stop and says i need to try again. can anyone help me out here. thanks

Right click on the setup go to properties. go to compatibilit tab. And try running under compatible for xp service pack 2.

a 1520 with core 2 duo 2.2 ghz 8600m gt, 2 gigs ram. I did what you suggested forerunner but i still ran into the installation problem. any other ideas? thanks for the help

Its a faulty cd I think.

Try exchanging it if you bought if from a store or calling up the customer support.
Also if your trying to install the sf expansion too there is a recommended installation order to follow. -
hmmm, i bought it so long ago i don't think they will take it back lol. thats wierd though because i have been playing it on a computer at my house just fine for the time being. i guess i may have to buy a new one though. any other suggestions possibly?

Well I was searching around for you. What I came up with was the cd thing. Another person said after they put it into their dvd drive it worked which doesn't make much sense but can't be tried on a laptop. What you also can do is download the game as a torrent which is not illegal since you own a copy of the game and are putting in your own key.
Edit: scratch that no real active torrents for battle field. Sorry!! -
hey thanks for the help, i actually searched it and found someone who just cleaned the cd. i looked at my cd and it was dusty as hell lol. so i cleaned it and its working fine
