Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I have a HP laptop that came with a CD/DVD burner and I would like to relace it with a blu ray drive. I know it has the screen and graphics to play back bd movies already. Does anyone know where I can get a BD rom, cd/dvd burner to replace my current drive for a decent price? Also, what software would I need to play back blu ray movies?

    Thanks,

    Shane

There are tons of them at eBay. Make sure the interface is compatible (SATA or PATA) and the thickness is compatible (9.5 mm vs 12.7 mm). They are not interchangeable. Use Everest Ultimate to find out the interface of your current drive.

As for the software, I found PowerDVD to be less problematic than WinDVD. I still have PowerDVD 7 (current version is 9) and with the latest patch, it still plays all BD movies I thrown at it.
