the only speed bump is the bluetooth wireless lan.
never heard anything about it before.
does this limit the range for connection or is that dependent on the router?
plain jane machine but satisfies my needs with a couple of wants thrown in for 900 Canadian after rebate.
i know i can get a wireless card but ...

Think of bluetooth as short range wireless USB. You can use it to connect devices like printers, phones, PDAs, etc. It does not effect the range of your wireless card.

sorry ZaZ - i probably wasn't clear in asking the question
from lenovo specs for n100 package
Wireless
Wireless Type: LAN
Wireless Standard: Bluetooth
Wireless Max. Speed: Bluetooth: 2.4GHz, 11a:54Mbps, 11b:11Mbps, 11g:54Mbps
Description: Bluetooth
Frequency: Bluetooth:2.4GHz
left me with the impression that they were using bluetooth in a lan in lieu of some other option like an intelPRO wireless card
where the reality is that bluetooth isn't usable in that capacity? - can't receive a signal from a regular wifi router, or can, but it's an inferior approach?
thanks for the response

Almost all, but the lowest of low configurations of notebooks will come with a WiFi card.
