hello guys. my friend jsut recently short ciruited his mobo. well more like fried one of the prongs on the mobo for the pwoer switch. i was able to make it work for a week by sticking a metal prong in it. but yesterday it stopped wroking more like the prong is super loose now. dont thing thers enuf connection from mobo to swtich. is there a way to bypass it? was thinking of maybe soldering the prong on it and might make it work. by other than that any other way?

link is not minebut saw somthing onnline similar. the prong on the mobo is missing .

pull out the old prong (if you havent done) and cut a piece off a paperclip the same length, a proper paperclip not a flimsy one. put a teensy bit of glue into the hole and push it in as hard as you feel possible without breaking anything.

You should resolder the pin. Unfortunately most motherboards have 3-5 layer PCB's so you may not be able to solder it from the reverse side of the motherboard. Tin the end of your soldering iron and the pin, and than solder it to the motherboard.

Watch out for static, always touch something metallic first before touching the motherboard to avoid static damage.
