I have an Asus A6rp. Here are the specifications.

    Intel Celeron M 440 1.86Ghz 533FSB
    ATI Radeon Express 200m Chipset
    2 gig of ram
    80 gb of HD
ATI Radeon Express 200m Video 256MB.

I am wondering if it is possible to upgrade the processor to a core duo or core 2 duo. Any adivice is appreciated.

TNX a lot.. please email me.. jecho0904@Yahoo.com

You should be able to upgrade, but only to the old generation, so Core Duo and first gen Core 2 Duos (Socket M).

i do believe you can upgrade that CPU with a SOCKET M--CORE 2 DUO..
do alot of research before buying an upgrade CPU, I made the mistake of just ordering CPUs w/out doing research and it's taken me a little time to sell the Socket M CPUs i ordered for my family's 3 laptops.

you'll find that the primary considerations you must take into account are:
    1. MB chipset (i.e. GM940, GM943, GM945 are socket M chipsets)
the chipset often limits the FBS speed your MB can support.
    2. CPU socket type
    3. BIOS support for the CPU upgrade.

to get more definitive answers reguarding your laptop i think you should ask this question in the ASUS forum, there you can probably get info/help w/ choosing the right CPU for your setup, help with disassembly, and other brand specific issues.

    good luck
