    can I delete these partitions?

    Hi,

    I want to install extra OS but I have too many partition, I attached a snapshot of my HDD partitions, please tell me which one can I delete.

    one of them is "HP_TOOLS". what is it for? can i delete it?

    OS:Windows 7 64-bit
    Laptop: HP Pavilion dv6.

    My honest to god suggestion is if you do not know what you are doing, don't touch your partitions. Otherwise your next topic is going to be "Help, I broke my computer, how do I fix it?"

    In theory, the only partition you need is the one labeled C: right now, as it is your boot & system partition. But you may irreversibly remove functions from your laptop (such as a factory reset) by messing with your partition table.

    well as hep said u need only c partition
    but i saw ur thumbnail (snapshot) i saw only two main partitions of use c and d there r no such large no. of partitions as u said.
    however u can shrink ur d partitionright click on it in disk management and then shrink it as per ur need and then this will create new partition which u can use to install new OS as wanted by u

    thanks for the info, just to be save I'll back up the two small partitions using acronis.
