Hi.
It should only have 10% wear or less in the first year, unless you use it on battery all the time.
I would avoid deep discharges, try not to discharge below 40% as a full discharge can increase your wear level.
I had a battery go from 0% to 15% in 1 week after only 4 complete discharges, I sent it back and got a replacment.

I have a 6% wear level, and I use it on battery every day. I have had this laptop for 1 month. My Smartbay battery has 0% wear though

Hi.
The cell`s inside the battery are normally called li-ion 18650 they come in 2200mah to 2600mah at 3.7volts and are stacked in series and parallel to get the final voltage and capacity.
The battery wear level assumes that you will get 100% capacity on all battery`s but if you buy the 18650 loose to make your own battery pack`s they say 90-100% on the technical information , so you could get a cell with 10% wear from new.

NHC does not run on Vista, a new version is in the works that does.

i have 3 year complete cover warranty, does it cover battery? -

If you are not taking out the notebook very frequently, maybe removing the battery and running off the mains will help reduce further wear. But I dont think there is anything you can do right now to improve your existing battery.

i don't use very much my laptop, but i do stand by it a lot when i use. does it increase the wear?

NHC works for Vista 32 with limited features and support. It is quite outdated to handle the latest cpu's and hardware.
It does not work for Vista 64 at all.
Heat is the main killer of batteries cells so just keep it as cool as you can. -
Yesterday I forgot my notebook was in stand-by mode with very few battery . today when i pressed the power button and nothing happened just like if not battery was there.
"damm" I should not discharged completely the battery, the % of wear must be higher..
when i plug the AC and checked with RMclock and NHC the % of wear just changed from 22% to 8% O_O ?? originally only can charge 44xxxmwh of 56xxx design capacity, now i can charge 52xxx fo 56xxx...
was that bad calibrated?? -
You need to calibrate/cycle your battery every month or so.
You do this by fully discharging it so the counter starts at 0-5% and it gets charged to its full capacity.
can I reduce battery wear?
