hi,
i have a compaq v2300 series intel celeron M 360(1.4ghz) FSB=400mhz
presently with 256mb pc2700 ddr 333mhz sodimm.
since i was looking to upgrade to 1gb i was wondering if pc3200 ddr400mhz sodumm can be used and advantage in frequency if any.
thanks in advance

You can put it in there, but it would be downclocked to the pc2700 speeds. Even if you did get it to run faster, there would not be a noticeable improvement. Thus it's not really worth it.

And if the PC3200 has a higher latency both will default to that. Possibly 3 vs2.5.
can pc3200 be used for pc2700 in laptop
