That is interesting. The dv6000z review unit I had was very quiet though it had the TL-56. Did you set it to Laptop/Max Battery in Power Options? Speed fan is another avenue.

Have a loot at the Undervolting thread in HP's forum. It is called "undervolting Turion ml34" but the technique is the same. I prefer RMClock to NHC for voltage manipulations.

what is your power profile look like? it should have dynamic freq. scaling enabled..

if there is no such otion... you need to install the AMD PowerNow! drivers...

seems to me the problem is that the CPU is constantly running at full speed, when there is no reason for it...

a turion X2 TL-60..(i'm assuming its 2Ghz right?)..I'm drooling.... is it fast compared to a core duo?

yeah its the tl 60 i looked at the amd website and it said that the software should automatically be installed but then i looked and the hp update site and it had bio updates for it but it only said for xp home and pro and i have mce and it went on to say if you installed it on a os that its not recomended for that it could result in the processor never getting full speed. and yea the tl 60 its pretty decent in speed.

Yeah, it should work. I use it all the time. Ignore the "unknown processor model". Just use the Profiles page and set the voltages and multipliers you want, then expand the profiles page and again select the multipliers for each profile. Then go back to the main profiles page and select the power scheme you want to run.

im beginning to think that the temp on the mobile meter is wrong because when it shows the clock speed it some times shows 16 ghz which is unbelieveable one time it hit 22 ghz not 2.2

Mobile meter hasnt been updated for a while, so it can give false positives. Either use the RM Clocks temp monitor or use Core Temp. These are going to be more reliable since they measure directly from the processor DTS(thermal sensors) instead of relying on motherboars sensors.

If the temperature stays in the 40's when idle, then that is pretty much the normal temp for the Turion X2. The max temperature is 95C so I wouldnt worry about it unless you are hitting 80C+(under full load).
