As the title says. Is it possible for this video card to display widescreen resolution through the d-sub? I'm thinking of buying an external lcd screen, and seeing as there is one on sale but in 16:10 form factor, i wonder if i will be able to exploit it.

Yes, gpus can display various resolutions as long as the monitor supports it. In the specs of ur card u can check out to see what the max res supported is, and in between u should have acess to both 4:3 and 16:10 aspects.

Humkay, after installing the monitor drivers, i could select the correct 16:10 resolution. However, as my laptop does not have dvi out, i was stuck using d-sub and the screen could not make it fit properly. On top of that, it only has horizontal stretch and no vertical stretch, can you believe that? I mean, this is a viewsonic, how could this be happening!
Seems like this display will be going back to the store until i get myself a new laptop, with a docking station with dvi out. And hopefully, by then the price will have gone down some more.
