The core duo is the processor its self. Centrino I believe is the notebook technology that uses a core duo processor, along with intel's wireless capabilities, and power saving capabilities. So Centrino Duo and Core duo's are the same thing, they just want to confuse you more. My 1210 has the Core duo 2.16 like it says in my sig. But the sticker on it says centrino duo, becuase it has intel wireless. Hope this explains it.

    A fancy marketing catchphrase.

"Centrino" isn't a different kind of processor or anything, it's more of a term applied to a system that meets a certain criteria; specifically, if it's got an Intel processor, chipset, and wireless card. Core duo processor + chipset + intel wireless card = centrino.

If you had 2 identically configured notebooks, except one had an Intel wireless card in it and the other had a different brand, they would be Centrino and non-centrino respectively.
