In that case, take the T7250. It has a higher fsb, and the Santa Rosa technology makes it more future proof. A T7300 or a T7500 would be even better if you could afford it and if it is available, but a T7250 will do nicely to otherwise.

Whats the $ differente between both?

If its not so high (shouldnt be), i'd reccomend the T7250. Looks like you are in the same boat than me: theres no T7300 with 4mb cache, only the crippled 2mb T7250 :( It's good anyway, just that the 4mb cache would make it a little more.. confortable.
In my case its something like $50 extra to upgrade from T5250 to T7250, totally worth it.

Yeah, if you're going to game there's no reason why you shouldn't take the T7250 over the T5250. And yeah, the cost difference shouldn't be too bad; definitely nowhere near the difference between, say, a T7250 and a T7600.

How is it 50$ for 5250 to 7250?!?!?!. Last time I checked it was 130$ from T5250 (the Santa Rosa, 1.4ghz, 800FSB).

    Right now it's exactly $100 between the T5250 and the T7250 for the 1420, 1520 and 1720. At the same time it's exactly $200 between a T7250 and a T7700.

    Is $100 worth the upgrade?
Is there a point in upgrading to the Nvidia, if I don't upgrade my processor?

The T5xxx isn't that bad and I doubt it would bottleneck the 8600GT seeing as the X2 3800+ does not bottleneck the 8800GTS
