Does anyone know where I'd find a circuitry component that allows for LEDs to blink when music is playing? I'd say it'd probably have to measure the frequency of sound, although I don't know as I've never worked with one before.

Odds it would fit in a laptop?

You need to stop posting multiple threads with very related questions. Didn't you just ask about LED installation on an internal USB port?

To answer your question, you will need to either "build your own PCB concoction" or find an existing USB device that can handle or sense the sound output from your soundcard drivers. The likeliness of finding such a device is very low in my opinion. You might want to look into Home Theatre or SFF machines that have a onscreen display, then finding a way to solder this into your notebook and go on from there. Good luck...
