    I found sites giving different details on RAM speed for the M2000. should i get PC2100, PC2700 or PC3200?? very confused!!

    You can use any kind of DDR SODIMM memory on your laptop.And these are the speeds.First find your memory speed using CPU-Z (go to the SPD tab and find the occupied slot).Then it's better to get from the same modules (or a faster one if it's cheaper - it will be downclocked anyway - AFAIK).
