This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Which one would be faster? Which is better on battery life? I'm having trouble finding a comparison. Please note that this is comparing turion x2 to core duo, not the core 2 duo!

    I'm looking to buy a new notebook on ebay. In my price range the best options are turion x2 or core duo. Core 2 duo would burn a hole in my pocket ;)

    The forums search isn't very good, I agree. I hardly ever use it. Instead, I use the search box in the top right of the screen; it is a Google search that searches NotebookReview.com only. Try that next time. ;)

    The Core Duo still should get better battery life than the Turion X2. Depending on the exact processor model between the two, any one may outperform the other but most likely not by much.

    Not to knock on AMD, but their Turions have never been strong battery life performers, but are good at price.
