Hi,
I usually store many files in my notebook and since notebooks don't offer much space, I hope I can try do alot of compression the files using winrar. And decompress whenever I use them. I will also compress and store in my 2nd hard drive as well.
But since it takes alot of time doing so, is there anyway I can upgrade compress file using winrar go faster? should I upgrade cpu?
thanks.

Compression/decompression is dependent on the CPU, yes. What CPU do you have?

The speed of your hard drive, obviously, will also have an affect. For instance, a 4200RPM drive won't be able to do anything quickly, no matter how good your CPU is.

This is very dependent on CPU, memory speed (here is one example where higher bandwidth typically exceeds lower CAS latency in general performance) and hard drive speed.
compress/decompress...depends on cpu?
