I bought a samsung lcd tv. it is 1080p 37 inch tv. i get alot of crap that i wasted my money because 1080p is not beneficial unless you go over 40 inches.

I read HD is considered 1280x720. now many lcd monitors run at 1280 x 800 and its considered a quote bad resolution for games when technically its a 720p picture.this is really the highest benefit you can get unless you go over 40 inches as mentioned above.

then why do people go gaga for 1280x1020 or higher when you have already reached a maxed noticeable difference of 720p? many times your only working with 15 inches.

The key difference is that you are only a foot or two away from the computer screen, compared to 6-10+ with a TV.
Also, higher resolution gives more screen real estate vs. a lower resolution on a computer. On a TV, the image will just be scaled down (or up) to meet the resolution, so there is no "real estate" bonus.

i am also using samsung 37inch Full HD 1080P. Picture is superb. use with PC is much better. and i realy feel alot of difference from my previous lcd which was also of 37 inch but not 1080p. You have what is best. anything below it doenst even come close.
As for resolution.... the normal standard for HD is 1366x768.
    Full HD is 1920x1080.
then comes the difference of Interlace or Progressive Scan. 1080i is inferior to 1080p. Progressive scan is 4 times better than interlace. provided that your input also supports it. I use a HD dvd player and it proves to be good. Also the nvidia GTX 280 runs the screen at Full HD 1080p.
