    I am in the progress of making a model of a laptop i wish to construct using cad. How much do you think a prototype company will charge to make it? i'm talking just the chassis here.

    Have you thought about vacuum formed ABS plastic? Just to start with...not as a full time casing.

    Build one from MDF wood or anything rigid that can withstand the heat. Then use something like this to fabricate the shells of your casing.

    no i hadn't thought of that. i suppose it would end up cheaper this way, the plans are pretty cheap, so i suppose its worth a try. thanks for the info!
