Dear community,
I have a Dell, Latitude D600 with a CD drive. I want to play DVDs on it; is there a way to convert the drive for the DVD and what type of software would I need to install to allow viewing of the DVD.
Is it worth it or should I simply purchase a DVD player? Would prefer to use the laptop and not expand.
Thank you

There is no such thing as converting a CD to a DVD. That would be amazing!
You have to upgrade the CD-player to a DVD-player in the notebook or buy an external DVD-player. -
I am guessing your current optical drive cannot read/burn DVD's. If that is the case, you need to upgrade your optical drive to one which can read/burn DVD's.

Why would he want a DVD-burner?
-
cause its cheaper than buying an internal cd burner drive with dvd rom abilities
