I read the posts on this subject, but still not sure what to do....

My cpu-z clock speed appears to be stuck at under 1000 mhz per core.

I changed my power settings to home/office. i ran super pi and there was no change, still 999/1000mhz per core.

i should be coming in at 2200 mhz per core.

are there any other changes i can make, this has got to be a settings thing because theres no way its as bad as it seems...
    right?

here's a screenshot of mine, someone else benchmarked theirs at 2.2gig w/ an 11.0 multiplier. im getting 1 with a 5

looks like i cant post attachments,

Switch the power settings to Always On.
    It worked for me.

I tried always on, still no change.

are there any other settings besides the power options i could look at, i dont think the cool and quiet should be taking that much of a toll, right?

Yes you can, but you linked to your own desktop. Try uploading the picture to a host and then link to it there.

I doubt its stuck on 1000mhz... Most likely it is just dynamically switching. Try run SuperPI (sticky link) or some really instensive programs such as cpu burn, prime95 etc to see if it still reads 1000Mhz during testing.

CPU dynamically switches to save power so your core duo will run between 1Ghz and 2.2Ghz depending on the load on the cpu.

Oh how I detest the word, "lappy". I would suggest trying to use Rightmark CPU Clock Utility and setting your own settings. I would assume something is wrong with your speedstep and its just stuck at a low multipler.

ok, in bad taste. you cant put this thing on your lap anyways.

    ez2-
i forgot to mention, i did test it out runnning super pi and tried some heavy cad files, but it wouldnt budge, stuck at 1000.
The results calculating pi out to 1 and 2 million were way slower than they should have been too, like 3 minutes or abouts to 2mil.

hamshu, i will try out rightmarks app and see what happens.

thanks for the advice. truly appreciate it.

actually, i just tried it again, something might be limiting the speed (fsb?) i ran amd power monitor and although super pi took almost 1 and a half min to calculate 1 million, neither core appeared to get very far past 50%, just a couple flashes up to 70%.
it might not be getting the right draw to signal a "step-up"?

    obviously i have no idea.

    Problem solved!!

well not exactly, because neither me, nor boxx support, nor anybody else knew what the heck was wrong with it.

But problem fixed, installed the new june amd driver and voila! got my 2.2 ghz for two cores, and i am happy.

I unplugs, drops to 1 gig, I plugs it back in, jumps to 2.2.

my super pi times jumped up almost 300%. my 3d mark scores went up as well.

hope this thread helps someone somewhere sometime.
