i was given 1024 mb of DDR2-400 ram.
I'm interested if they will work with my core 2 duo 1.83 cpu?
-
Nope. The chipsets for the Core processors only support DDR2.
-
Throw it in your computer and see if it works.
-
this is a ddr 2 memory.
but only diference is, it's 400, not 600.
how will it work with 1.86 ghz processor. -
Read his post he said DDR2-400. It actually exists, it'll work but it'll bottle neck your computer. CoreDuos are already bandwidth staved as it is.
It'll work by the chipset using a different divider. -
aha. so instead of
3x600
it will be 4x400... or something like that.
thanks.
and is it wise to use 400 and 600 ddr2 memory at the same time? -
I hope you mean unwise because mixing memory will result in the faster RAM running at the same speed as the slower RAM.
ddr 400 on core duo?
