Can my notebook support ddr2-800? I have a hp dv2533tx notebook, with support for a maximum of 4gb on 2 slots that is all I know. It is running ddr2-667 atm. I have found some modules that are ddr2-800 for not much more than ddr2-667. Is it worth it, my notebook only has a t5450 with fsb lower than 800mhz will this affect my choice?

No current notebook supports DDR2 800mhz ram. If you install it then the ram will just be down clocked to 667mhz. So don't bother wasting any extra money on 800mhz ram get the 667mhz one instead.

This needs to be made into a sticky. I see so many threads about this, and inevitably the answer is always the same.

The ones using desktop Intel 965 chipset, and a few AMD notebooks. -
. So what I should have said is * most notebooks do not support DDR2 800mhz ram (sorry to the OP) thanks for correcting that Gophn. This fact is especially true for this HP being that it has a C2D T5450 which can't take advantage of 800mhz ram.
All that being said get the 667mhz ram. -
I got a 2gb stick of 667mhz ram.
ddr2-800 sodimm
