how does ddr3 (1066mhz) perform compared to ddr2 (667mhz)?

faster? technically. worth the price right now? not at all

Lower power consumption. 10-15 minute better battery life on a good day. Overclocks better. Runs same frequency if using a 1066mhz fsb.

Power consumption is marginal between the two in the short run. I agree with emike09 that on a good day, you might get an extra 15 minutes of battery life.
