how many of you can attest to purchasing the dead pixel warranty and why, aside from the obvious? i suppose i'm really trying to gauge two things: how many people purchased the warranty vs. didn't, and how many people have experienced pixel issues. i'd be going with the 95% gamut too if that's relevant.

two-weeks-later edit: i did not purchase the warranty nor the 95% gamut.![]()

But wit that good a screen it would drive me nuts if there were pixel issues.
If you can return your unit when there are pixel issues then don't bother.
If not and the price is reasonable, I think you should take it, the screen of your laptop is not something you easily replace. -

Mine had one dead pixel but it was in the upper left of the screen and not something one could visibly see or notice and my warranty said it had to be more 3 dead pixel to qualify for warranty replacement.
