I understand that this is not a desktop fourm, however i need some help and i dont know of another desktop specific website. so here it goes. I have a 6 years old desktop which runs on P4, its working fine and i was going to put off buying a desktop for a while since i got a laptop not long ago, however i came up on this deal from dell
    Q6600 quad core 2.4Ghz
    3gb DDR2 800mhz ram
    320gb 7200 rpm HD
    Nvidia 8800GT
    with a 16x dvd burner
    for 829 dollars canadian

its just a tower without a monitor
I think this a a good deal, but is so good that I should get dispite that i have not that much of a desktop need? but if I buy this, i will no longer have to game on my vostro 1400 which has a rather pethatic 8400gs

    thanks for your opinions

It is an excellent deal that makes us living in UK envy and hate you Americans/Canadians. If you are a gamer (which looks like you are), then you should buy this and play all your games, as it would literally destroy your 8400M GS.

That's a powerful tower! Go for it, regardless.

It's an awesome deal for sure... But only you can decide how to spend your money. Or wife. ;)

If you don't have much need for a desktop then it will be an $800 gaming console basically. I am not a gamer so to me that seems silly.

But it will also serve to make your friends jealous... That's gotta be worth something.

Well then go for it man. $800 is a small price to pay for happiness.
