I have an older dell csx laptop i want to buy an ac adapter for, but when looking at ebay there are many different models listed that supposedly work with it
i think i need a pa-6, but i have seen people selling the pa-2, pa-6 and the pa-9 adapters and saying they are compatible with it
are all these adapters really the same to where it wouldnt matter which one i got?
thanks

It is quite likely that there is a compatible newer PSU.
The key requirements are: (a) DC output voltage (dell uses 19.5V DC for most of its PSUs); (b) current rating; and (c) the same DC power plug.

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
PA-6 is the one you want. It's a 20V, 70W adapter. I believe PA-2, PA-9, etc, are lower and higher watt adapters with the same jack.
EDIT: PA-9 is a 90W brick, but PA-2 seems to put out 20V, 70W too... might just be an older version of the PA-6. -

The PA-2E is an updated model of that AC Adapter and should work with that laptop.
