    Hello,
I'm thinking of upgrading my current 512 mb memory to 2gb on my dell inspiron 6000 laptop.
Which memory manufacturer would you suggest?
And i've had a friend who installed new memory sticks that said he had to reinstall windows..Is this true?
    Thanks.

I would go with crucial or corsair, but any laptop memory with a lifetime warranty will be fine.
Crucial usually has the best memory since they use the highest quality micron memory chips.

Your laptop uses Pc4200/pc5300 sodimm memory modules with a maximum memory support of 2gb.

You do not have to reinstall windows after upgrading the memory.
Your friend is wrong there :D

kingston is fine....but steer away from te fake ones..!!
There was a guide on ebay, on how to differentiate between the fake and original ones..!! But as K-Tron advised, go for the ones with the lifetime warranty..!!
