okay i know there is a way to do this, but i want to know what is the easiet way possible.. I am considering buying a tablet pc simply because they are so small and easy to just pick up and go... I am going to build a new desktop as well.. I like the power that i can get in a desktop but i still want the mobility of a laptop.. Anyways.. Is there a way that i can just sync the two systems so that i will be using the desktop and i press a button and it updates with the laptop so that i can just pick it up and go and still have everything the same as it was on my desktop? Then after im done with the laptop, i reconnect it and it syncs with the desktop and all the files update.. Basically i want the two systems to be able to have the same files and programs at the touch of a button.. Are there any programs out there that can do this? and how would i connect the two systems?? network??

Look into Synctoy from MS Powertoys. There is a version for XP and Vista. You select which folders and how to sync them. I use it as a simple backup for my external drive. I have not been to happy with backup software, and this works well. It wont sync your emails/contacts/calandar unless you create a export file in Outlook (or other email client) and sync it, then import it.
