Alright guys, I am computer stupid!!! I bought an HP dv6000 and for the first couple of days everything worked great. Now I am trying to rip all of my cds to itunes and the stupid thing won't read the cds, the ones that it attempts on, it just about quits or rips at 0.2. I think I have a bad cd-rom. Any suggestions would really help. I want to know if I should take it back or not!

    Hello and welcome.

To determine is the drive is or isnt working. Do you have ANY commerical made CD, like games, audio CD, etc?

thanks i just haven't been sure bc it will work every 3 cds or so just really really slowly and without finishing the cd. I have put around 1000 songs on it and wasn't sure if i had worn it out. Probably sounds stupid

No way to worn it out THAT quickly, unless you are burning CDs 24/7, which I doubt it.
