    Folks,

Could someone advise me if a standard HD docking station that accepts 3.5" and 2.5" hard drives will accept a drive from Latitude e5420/e6420? Do I need a special docking station if such does exist? I need to pull out the drive from other laptop and check it for usable files.

    This is what I use...

    http://www.microcenter.com/product/...es_Docking_Station_-_SATA_to_USB_20_and_eSATA

And this works very well for my needs both 3.5/2.5 drives....I used them for drive image and driver file transfers as well.

I have a very similar dock to StormJumper's (only one opening rather than 2), and yes it will happily work with both 3.5" desktop drives as well as 2.5" laptop drives. If it's something like an mSATA SSD, you will probably need an adapter to put it in the dock, or a different cable.
