If you want 1000mhz try getting hynix chips (hyundai).

hmm might have too look those up.

so the chance for the Kingston i linked hitting 1000mhzs or over is very small?

No, there is probably a good chance.

What ram do you have right now?

If it doesn't have write protection enabled, you can flash it to a lower frequency (use thaiphoon burner) and then it will have more overclocking headroom. Also use thaiphoon burner to increase the timings.

ram that i have in it now is my old dells crucial pc4200 533mhzs mix with the stock 6400 800mhzs that came with the 1201n

so when i have my 1201n overclock at around 2ghzs the ram runs around 667mhzs but i would like it to run higher sense the ion graphics depends on the memory speed.

    the timings on the 533mhzs is 4 4 4 12

the stock ram 800mhzs cas timings is all 6 6 6 12 which the max i can overclock is too around 1900mhzs which i have too higher the timings too i think the ram chokes out around 950 960mhzs.

if the kingston will will do 1000mhzs or even little more i would get thoes but i dont want to buy it and it would ony do the speed of the stock ones hit..

tried that program and it just crashs than i run as admin and it doeisnt see the ram :( so i guess its protected

If thaiphoon burner doesn't see the ram (this doesn't mean it's WP), do this:
    1. Download a program called "setfsb".
    2. Run setfsb.
    3. Select your clock generator (PLL), or a similar one.
    4. Click "getfsb".
    5. Now run thaiphoon burner as admin, it should see the ram.
    6. Use the editor to change the timings, increase them.
You can also use the browser to find SPD dumps of other ram which you can flash onto your ram.

If you don't know which timings to change I can help, let me know.

If you flash new timings, but you still see the old ones, it means you have WP enabled.

If you need help to find your PLL let me know, I'll give you a good link.

tried setfsb it says chipset error on start up..

don't think nothing works for overclock other than that asrock tuner for the 1201n..

Can you try just a 1mhz overclock, then open thaiphoon burner and check again.

Thaiphoon burner can't access your SMbus properly, you need to run another program that can, which helps thiaphoon burner somehow (like setfsb).

setfsb doesn't work at all it just says that chipset error and you cant do anything at all.

i also got it overclock with asrock tuner and thaiphoon still doesn't see the ram at start up it says something you need to run admin but i tried that and still says the kernal error but than loads up and says undefined for all the module specs.

Are you using win7 or vista?

Thaiphoon burner works best with XP.

That's the problem. Could you maybe install XP on a small partition or on a USB key just to flash the ram?

Or run the program in XP mode (doesn't win 7 have some special XP mode or something?).
