hi. i was just wondering about something.
i have a dell inspiron 9300. my friends have other inspirons but some of our ac adapters are different. some are smaller while mine is bigger, yet they all PLUG in the same and it seems to work. is there a problem with using my friend's power units?

The problem will not be for the battery, but for the system. If you use an AC with a different power rating, then you're either overpowering or underpowering your machine. While idk what that might do to a computer, it surely is not good nor reccomended.

Check the voltage. If it's the same you're probably okay. A smaller physical adaptor may not provide the amps necessary though. I have 2 Acers and both have the exact same AC adaptor. Same physical size baterry and the batteries fit. Bu one is 11.1 volt and the other is 14.4. Acer's web site lists the same replacement battery though, so I use the 4800 mah 14.4 volt in both.

Just make sure that the voltages are the same.
Thats the important thing.
does using different DELL chargers for a laptop kill battery?
