May I ask why you posted this in the "AW" section?

Wasn't paying attention to what forum i was in when i posted. I have been in this section alot because i just purchased a new alienware laptop. After i posted i noticed and didnt know how to delete, then someone responded so i posted again. It can moved to the general area if need be or even deleted because most of it was old news. For some reason when i searched i didnt find anything- must have had some restriction on or used the wrong key words.

Oh yeah, congrats on the new lappie, you won't be dissapointed, unless we can't upgrade to the 8800gtx's, but I'm sure we will

It may be ugly, but not everybody can afford the sexiness (as much as I LOVE the looks of it) of the m17. This is why I developed the habit of admiring the guts, and not the chassis. I personally think its ridiculous that you can have 2 beasts that can contain identical guts, but one is 500-1000 more than the other because of its good looks. I'm not triggering a debate, I'm just stating that it's bittersweet that the market is courteous enough to let you sacrifice a notebooks looks for the same performance, especially for those individuals on a fixed budget.

(I personally don't think it looks THAT bad, though).
