    dual core duo or penryn processor??

    I am looking at 2 (identical )hpdv9700t models one has the dual core , and the other has the penryn processor in it which do i choose ,??
    One is proven and reliable and the penryn is new , are all of the kinks worked out of the penryn yet??? Please help

    I don't think there's any issues with Penryn processors.

    Penryn = Core 2 Duo. Penryn is just a codename.

    Merom, Merom-2M, and Penryn are all branded under the "Core 2 Duo" moniker.

    What issues with Penryn? My T9300 (Penryn) runs with no problems at all. Unless you can be more specific on what "problems" you are referring to...
