hi guy's
just asking
if a quad core with low clock speed is better than duo core with faster clock speed
and i dont mean faster but better because as i understand that the user not usually use the full power of the processor
thanx in advance

So far QuadCore doesn't have any good use for anyone. I think I read that in the latest PCWorld. It will be awhile before its usable/profitable.

Yes, no, maybe....
Will definitely depend on what you use the computer for, depends on the relative speeds of the cores. I don't think that multi-core is very useful yet (in general) because a lot of programs don't take advantage of it, of course the same can be said of 64 bit too so.
For laptops I've not even heard of any quad core stuff so it may be a moot point too. -
i know but i mean if your planning to keep the pc for 3-4 years
and the question is just theoretical just to increase my knowledge -
Well, if for the next 3 or 4 years, you will be using the notebook for basic taks, such as word processing and surfing the Internet, then there will practically ne no difference, even when the programs become multi-threaded. This is because so little processing power is needed to run these applications. More intensive tasks, such as video editing and encoding require more processing power, and those will see a huge jump in performance, if the programs are multi-threaded. Thats because all of the cores are used in the processing, which is more efficient than a dual core, running at a higher clock speed.

I personally wudnt go for a Quad core now since its of no use to me although I'm an intensive gamer

Don't bother unless you know you need it (That is, if you have some pretty unusual needs for your computer).
For large servers, it makes good sense. For people who encode/decode *a lot* of movies, it *may* make sense.
For most scientific number crunching, it'll typically make very good sense.
For anyone else, it's not worth paying extra for. Better get a higher clocked dual-core.
duo core vs quad core
