    Hey all

I know this might seem like a strange problem, but I will explain it anyway and see if you gurus know what the problem might be.

I have a dv2000 HP Pavillion computer and when the hard drive on the back of the system has any pressure at all, for example, picking it up and having a few fingers on the hard drive, it shuts down just like the battery was dead. To turn the computer back on I need to take the battery off and unplug the AC for a few seconds and then plug the AC back in without the battery and it comes back on.

That is pretty much all I can tell you about the problem. Any takers? Haha. Thanks in advance!

I think it is a coincidence. I know the problem is happening, but I do not think it is your harddrive. When you put pressure in the back of your system, most likely a cable is touching something else and than causing the system to short and shut off. You may have to physically take the system apart and see if you can figure out what is causing the problem. It could be anything from a loose wireless card, a loose audio cable, a loose antenna cable, or even just a lcd screen connector coming loose.
I doubt its your harddrive, because it will still run if their is pressure on it.
