I currently have the WXGA screen(1280*800) and would like to upgrade to the one with 1680*1050 resolution(WSXGA)...is it possible to purchase the screen via HP?
I cannot return the laptop and re-order since all of HP's laptop here in India have WXGA as the best option and nothing higher than that. Will upgrading screen void my 1-year limited warranty?
Also what would be the estimated approximate price of the WSXGA screen?(no currency restricitons)

If the notebook you have, do have the WSXGA screen as option it should be upgradeable to that screen, yes.
You could contact HP and ask them if there is any way to buy it from them, i think they could sell it too you. As i've seen dell do that, others should be able to do that too.
It will most certainly void your warranty if you upgrade it by yourself. But you could always ask HP when asking to buy the screen and you could also ask for the estimated price.
You could do an estimated calculation yourself, what does the notebook with the WXGA screen cost? And how much does the notebook with WSXGA screen cost? Check the price difference in a country where they sell the both models, it should be somewhere around there. -
Hp wont know that you upgraded your laptop's screen they have no " warreny void if broken " stickers so if you do a good job they dont know.
