    dvd burning problems

    i think my dvd burner in my laptop is broke. i can burn cd audio but not dvds. first 2 minutes during burning are ok and then disc is ejected. ive tried few programs but the problem is the same.
    how can i check if its broke?

    Have you tried more than one brand of DVD and different burning speeds?

    However, it is unusual for the disc to be ejected before the burning is finished. Normally the burning program will happily continue to the end of the burning session, even if the product is unreadable. Are you burning several GB or only a few hundred MB?

    What software are you using? You can try this awesome freeware to see if it's your software that is causing the problem:

    Then if it still happens it's probably either a media or hardware issue.
