    i have a dell inspiron 1520 with a PBDS DVD+-RW DS-8W1P ATA dvd drive. i was wondering whether i can write on dual layer dvds (not literally lol).

    Yes, you can burn Dual-Layer DVDs.

    i checked but just wanted to make sure with people who actually tried it. sometimes you think you researched enough and end up missing a small asterisk on the side or something.

    Easiest way to find out is to try. Worst case, you end up losing a dual-layer DVD-R that's worth about a dollar.
