A friend of mine has a toshiba 17" P4 laptop.
He is playing a dvd slide show that somebody made for him on an apple laptop..
The video plays, the music plays, but the colors are not vibrant, kind of washed out.
If he puts the disc into another laptop or dvd player. It looks alot better.
    It looks like it should.
I'm not sure why this would happen. I know if he plays it through media player or WinVideo, it looks the same....kind of washed out.
    the contrast is off......
Any advice on what it may be?

    thanks

Try other videos, it could be he just has a bad LCD screen. Compare the other videos on both laptops and see...otherwise all I can suggest is update video drivers / use another video viewing program.

BUT, both media player and WinVideo look the same....

I think perhaps the resolution on the Toshiba is on a low resolution setting. Right click desktop, go to properties and click on the settings tab. Make sure that
your using 32-bit colour and make sure that the resolution is on its highest setting (adjust using sliding pointer).

yes, I checked that as well. I even seen how it plays a reg dvd, and it looks fine.
I know that this dvd he's trying to play was made on an apple notebook as I mentioned earlier, but, the dvd plays great on a home dvd player and another computer...
